1. General Information

Reliable Home Services (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides non-licensed handyman, home maintenance, and basic automotive services. By scheduling or receiving services, the customer (“you”) acknowledges and agrees to all terms listed on this page.

These terms exist to protect both parties and ensure services are provided safely, professionally, and within legal limits.

2. Non-Licensed Work Notice

Reliable Home Services is not a licensed electrician, plumber, HVAC technician, mechanic, roofer, or general contractor.

We do not perform any task that legally requires:

  • A licensed trade professional

  • Structural modification permits

  • Plumbing permits

  • Electrical permits

  • HVAC certification

  • Gas lines or fuel system work

  • Roofing beyond small patch repairs

If a service requires a licensed contractor, we will notify you and advise stopping work until a licensed professional evaluates the issue.

3. Limitation of Liability for Pre-Existing Conditions

Reliable Home Services is not responsible for pre-existing structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or material defects, including but not limited to:

  • Old, brittle, or worn-out materials

  • Rust, corrosion, water damage, or rot

  • Prior improper repairs

  • Code violations

  • Faulty wiring or plumbing

  • Weak, unstable, or deteriorated components

  • Aging automotive parts or systems

If additional problems are discovered during service, additional charges may apply or work may be discontinued until proper repairs can be made by a licensed professional.

4. No Liability for the Failure of Aged or Worn Materials

Due to age, wear, or existing damage, some materials can fail during normal repair procedures.

Reliable Home Services is not liable for any breakage, cracking, or malfunction caused by:

  • Brittle plumbing fixtures

  • Old drywall, plaster, tile, grout, or flooring

  • Rusted screws, bolts, or fittings

  • Aged electrical fixtures

  • Damaged or compromised vehicle components

  • Furniture or equipment assembled incorrectly prior to service

We will always use reasonable care but cannot guarantee the integrity of old or failing materials.

5. Customer-Provided Materials

If the customer supplies materials, parts, or equipment:

  • Reliable Home Services provides no warranty on customer-supplied items.

  • We are not responsible for defects, failure, incompatibility, or improper sizing of customer-supplied products.

  • If additional materials are required due to incorrect customer-provided items, additional charges may apply.

6. Automotive Maintenance Disclaimer

Reliable Home Services provides basic automotive maintenance only, including:

  • Brake pads and rotor replacement (bolt-on only)

  • Oil and filter changes

  • Bulb replacement

  • Battery installation

  • Wiper replacement

  • Basic OBD2 scanning

  • Air/cabin filter replacement

  • Tire rotation & pressure checks

We do not perform:

  • Engine repairs

  • Transmission services

  • Fuel system repairs

  • Brake line or hydraulic repairs

  • Suspension rebuilds

  • Advanced diagnostics

  • Any services requiring an ASE-certified mechanic

Reliable Home Services is not liable for:

  • Pre-existing mechanical issues

  • Hidden failures

  • Future breakdowns

  • Leaks, worn parts, or safety issues not visible at time of service

Vehicles must be in a safe location (driveway/garage) and in stable condition before work begins.

7. Warranty & Workmanship Guarantee

Reliable Home Services provides a limited 30 day warranty on workmanship only. This warranty does not cover:

  • Issues unrelated to the work performed

  • Pre-existing damage

  • Failures caused by old or worn materials

  • Customer-supplied parts

  • Damage caused by misuse, neglect, or environmental conditionsl

Labor warranty applies only to the specific task performed.

8. Right to Refuse or Stop Work

Reliable Home Services reserves the right to refuse service or stop work if:

  • Unsafe conditions exist

  • Licensed work is required

  • Additional issues are found requiring specialized repair

  • Customer behavior is threatening or inappropriate

  • Weather conditions prevent safe work

If work must stop, charges may apply for time already worked.

9. Safety & Access

Customer agrees to provide:

  • Safe, unobstructed work areas

  • Safe access to electrical panels, plumbing, or vehicles

  • Proper lighting and ventilation

  • Pets secured away from work area

  • Accurate information about the issue or project

Unsafe conditions may result in rescheduling or cancellation.

10. Payment Terms

Payment is due upon completion unless otherwise agreed.

Reliable Home Services may require deposits for large projects or custom material orders.

Late or unpaid balances may incur fees.

11. Agreement to Terms

By requesting or receiving services from Reliable Home Services, you acknowledge that:

  • You have read and understand this disclaimer

  • You accept all limitations of liability

  • You agree to all service terms listed above

Customer-Provided Materials Disclaimer

Reliable Home Services

Reliable Home Services does not supply materials for any project. All materials, parts, fixtures, and hardware must be purchased and provided by the customer prior to service. The following terms apply when customer-supplied materials are used:

1. Customer Must Provide All Materials

Reliable Home Services does not provide or sell materials.

The customer is fully responsible for purchasing correct materials, parts, fixtures, and items required for the project. This includes:

  • Plumbing and electrical fixtures

  • Hardware and fasteners

  • Replacement parts

  • Appliances (non-gas)

  • Building materials

  • Automotive parts

  • Paint, caulk, adhesives, and specialty items

If incorrect or incompatible materials are provided, additional charges may apply for delays or rework.

2. No Warranty on Customer-Provided Materials

Reliable Home Services provides no warranty, guarantee, or liability for any customer-supplied materials. This includes:

  • Defective items

  • Incorrect sizing or fit

  • Low-quality materials

  • Missing hardware

  • Items that fail during or after installation

  • Manufacturer defects

The customer is solely responsible for any replacement costs or product failures.

3. Not Responsible for Damage Caused by Customer Materials

Reliable Home Services is not liable for damage caused directly or indirectly by:

  • Faulty, brittle, or worn-out materials

  • Incorrect parts

  • Improperly manufactured items

  • Incompatible components

  • Customer-chosen products not suited for the application

Any additional repair costs resulting from customer-provided materials are the customer’s responsibility.

4. Additional Labor Charges May Apply

Additional charges may apply if materials provided by the customer:

  • Are incorrect or incomplete

  • Require modification to fit

  • Take extra time to install

  • Cause additional troubleshooting

  • Fail during the installation process

Labor needed to correct material issues will be billed separately.

5. Safety & Code Compliance

Reliable Home Services reserves the right to refuse installation of any material that appears:

  • Unsafe

  • Damaged

  • Not compliant with safety standards

  • Structurally unsound

  • Incompatible with the existing system

If this occurs, the customer will be notified before work continues.

Electronics Repair Disclaimer

Reliable Home Services

Reliable Home Services provides diagnostics, troubleshooting, and basic repair of low-voltage consumer electronics. By requesting or receiving electronics repair services, the customer (“you”) acknowledges and agrees to the following terms:

1. Scope of Electronics Repair

Reliable Home Services performs low-voltage electronics repair only, which includes:

  • Consumer devices (TVs, small appliances, game consoles, PCs, audio equipment)

  • Circuit board component replacement (caps, resistors, relays, connectors)

  • Power supplies, internal wiring, splicing, soldering

  • Automotive accessory wiring (non-safety systems)

We do not repair or modify:

  • High-voltage appliances

  • HVAC control boards

  • Furnace or A/C electronics

  • Gas appliance controls

  • Home electrical wiring, junction boxes, or circuits

  • Airbag, ECU, or fuel system wiring in vehicles

Any request involving these systems will be declined or require a licensed professional.

2. No Warranty on Electronics Repairs

Electronics repairs involve sensitive components, aging boards, and devices that may have existing faults.

Reliable Home Services provides no warranty for:

  • Future device performance

  • Longevity of the repair

  • Manufacturer defects

  • Failures unrelated to the repair

  • Heat damage, moisture damage, or internal corrosion

  • Customer-provided parts or components

Only the labor performed is warrantied for workmanship quality.

Because electronics can fail for reasons unrelated to the repair, no guarantee of device lifespan or functionality is implied.

3. Pre-Existing Conditions & Hidden Damage

Electronics often contain:

  • Burnt components

  • Internal shorts

  • Damaged traces

  • Failing capacitors

  • Corrosion

  • Overheating damage

  • Cracked solder joints

  • Worn connectors

Reliable Home Services is not liable for:

  • Additional damage discovered during repair

  • Failures that occur after opening the device

  • Damage caused by pre-existing faults

  • Device failure after testing

  • Components failing during normal soldering or disassembly

If hidden damage prevents repair completion, diagnostic fees still apply.

4. Customer-Provided Parts

The customer must provide all replacement parts unless otherwise agreed.

Reliable Home Services is not responsible for:

  • Incorrect replacement parts

  • Defective or incompatible components

  • Parts that fail during or after installation

  • Shipping or manufacturer errors

However, we can assist in finding the correct part upon request.

5. Risk of Non-Repairable Devices

Electronic devices—especially older units—may become non-functional or non-repairable during normal diagnostic procedures due to age or existing damage.

By proceeding, customer acknowledges this risk and agrees Reliable Home Services is not liable if:

  • The device cannot be repaired

  • The device stops functioning during or after repair attempt

  • Additional components fail during testing

This is a standard risk in all electronics repair industries.

6. Safety Exclusions

For safety and regulatory reasons, Reliable Home Services does not work on:

  • Devices containing refrigerant

  • High-voltage CRT televisions

  • Microwave high-voltage transformers/capacitors

  • Medical devices

  • Life-safety systems

7. Data Loss

Reliable Home Services is not responsible for loss of:

  • Software

  • Save data

  • Personal files

  • Firmware issues

  • Settings or configurations

Customer should back up all data before service when applicable.

8. Agreement to Terms

By requesting electronics repair, the customer acknowledges:

  • They understand the risks involved

  • They accept all limitations of liability

  • They agree Reliable Home Services is not responsible for damage caused by pre-existing conditions, age, or hidden defects

  • They accept that no performance guarantee is made beyond the repair attempted

  • They authorize opening and handling of the device

Commercial & Property Management Services – Terms & Disclaimer

Reliable Home Services (a trade name of Reliable H.S. LLC) provides general maintenance, repair, and installation services for commercial properties, multi-unit residential buildings, property-managed locations, landlords, and HOAs.

Scope of Services

Services provided are limited to non-licensed general maintenance and repair work, including but not limited to minor repairs, adjustments, installations, punch-list items, and preventive maintenance tasks. Reliable Home Services does not perform work requiring licensed plumbing, electrical, HVAC, structural, pest control, fire protection, or other regulated trades unless expressly agreed to in writing.

Reliable Home Services does not act as a general contractor and is not responsible for coordinating or supervising other trades unless specifically stated in a written agreement.

Workmanship Warranty

Reliable Home Services provides a 30-day workmanship warranty on labor only, beginning on the date services are completed. This warranty covers defects directly attributable to workmanship performed by Reliable Home Services.

At Reliable Home Services’ discretion, warranty claims may be resolved through repair, adjustment, or replacement of the labor performed. No cash refunds are provided under this warranty.

Warranty Exclusions

The workmanship warranty does not cover:

  • Materials, parts, or equipment (manufacturer warranties apply)

  • Client-supplied materials or components

  • Pre-existing conditions or deferred maintenance

  • Hidden or concealed damage

  • Code violations or compliance issues

  • Structural deficiencies

  • Moisture intrusion, leaks, mold, rot, or water-related damage

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Building movement, settling, or vibration

  • Failures caused by improper use, misuse, or neglect

  • Work altered, repaired, or impacted by others after service completion

Cosmetic or temporary repairs are not guaranteed to provide long-term performance when underlying conditions exist.

Estimates, Pricing & Authorization

All estimates and pricing are based on conditions visible at the time of service. Commercial and property management pricing structures may differ from residential pricing and may include service call minimums, hourly rates, per-unit pricing, or maintenance agreements.

Additional work discovered during service requires authorization from the property owner, manager, or designated representative before proceeding and may result in additional charges.

Client Responsibilities

The client is responsible for:

  • Providing safe, unobstructed access to the work area

  • Disclosing known issues, prior damage, leaks, or system failures

  • Ensuring utilities and building systems are operational

  • Securing necessary permissions or approvals

  • Providing accurate unit access and tenant coordination when applicable

Reliable Home Services is not responsible for delays caused by access issues, tenant availability, or incomplete information.

Limitation of Liability

Reliable Home Services shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of use, loss of income, or property damage unrelated to the specific scope of work performed.

Liability is limited to the cost of labor performed for the specific service provided.

Payment Terms

Payment is due upon completion of service unless otherwise agreed to in writing. Late or non-payment may result in service suspension, refusal of future service, or collection actions as permitted by law.

Right to Refuse or Discontinue Service

Reliable Home Services reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service due to unsafe conditions, misrepresentation, non-payment, scope outside offered services, or failure to comply with these terms.

Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois.
